
With that out of the way, I added the first of my green and light blue shades of leaf into the foremost mountains and started the lake.

Sorry for the odd angle all the snapshots are at, the painting was very wide and I couldn't get it all in even standing agianst my back studio wall, so I had to stand a bit to the side to get most of it in. This is a shot of the next stage, adding in a darker teal toned leaf.

Another shot of the above, from a different angle. This layer of teal leaf was the second last layer added. When this particular type of leaf is varnished, it darkens in color. So after I finished gilding this layer, I applied a gloss acrylic varnish over just these teal parts to deepen them.
