This is the first in a series of small Celtic Medallion paintings, where the images in the medallions are taken from various places in the Book of Kells. This particular one is a rundle of two birds in deep blue and a wine red color. Each bird is a reflection of the other, where one bird has blue, the other has red, and vise versa, with 22K gold leaf detailing. The paper surface they are on is of a mottled texture with flecks of imitation gold and silver leaf within.
