This is another in the series of Celtic Medallion paintings, where the images in the medallions are taken from various places in the Book of Kells. This one is a deep mulberry wine color, with an intricate interlacing knot pattern in 22K gold leaf. The paper surface they are on is of a mottled texture with flecks of imitation gold and silver leaf within.
