This painting was a private commission for a couple I also designed a pair of weddings rings for. The spiral corners are in classic Book of Kells style, with a pair on Celtic dragons entwined around the Donnachaidh crest and tartan. If you look closely, you'll see that the dragons are slightly different from eachother... slightly different eyes and smiles, and slightly different horns. Their tails entwine in what's normally called a Lover's Knot, which resembles two infinity symbols interlinked.
