I just love the double trefoil pattern, I think it's so interesting and I'm always trying new ways to use it. This is an older painting that I did on handmade paper that I made myself during my "handmade paper" phase, and the paper has dutch gold leaf flecks throughout. The knot itself is in gold, and instead of inking a border around it, I used a light blue japanese leaf and gilded a thin border around the gold to show the weaving.
