I picked rose and peachy colors for this knot, because the shape of the weavings made it look sort of like a flower already, so why not a knotted rose! This is an exploration into opaque technique for me, as I usually work in transparent glazes and colors. So to try out some ideas I sketched up a small series of designs that I could paint onto these nifty wooden panels I found at my local art store. These are still using acrylic, which I'm very comfortable using, but now that I've worked out some of my ideas using opaque color I want to try using a little gouache (like an opaque watercolor) on some larger pieces!
