This was a commission featuring the yin/yang motif and Celtic knotwork. The knotwork I chose for this has a sort of matching feel to the yin/yang symbol, with two companion turns within each knotwork repeat. The entire design features radiating 'rays' of dutch gold leaf irises, like rays of sunlight sparking off of the design or as if the image was the sun itself. The sun sparks extend over the outer border by just a little bit, to really pop the central image off of the panel.
