I recently had a request from a friend of mine for a set of dragon posters to help her with her own personal "dragons". I wracked my brains a bit, but when I looked over my work I realized that I not only had 4 dragons that would be perfect, but that they made a set of imagery about the 4 natural elements! I was kind of surprized because when I made them it wasn't my intent to make them a set, but the character of each dragon from their stance to their faces and the element they could represent, was so balanced it was almost like I had made them as a set!
I while I made up her set, with a little written explanation of each dragon, I thought that other folks might enjoy this set too for their personal alters or to hang at the 4 corners of their home, or just to enjoy. So here is a 4 poster set of the 4 dragons you see above, at a special price of $50 for all 4 (normally posters are $15 each), and with the package I'll include a copy of my little discussion on each dragon and the element they represent in the set:
Dragon on Dinosaur Bone - Earth - the noble earth dragon is calm, rooted, and stable. Created from the earth and depicted on fossilized dinosaur bone, he is stadfast no matter what is thrown at him. He endures despite change and chaos.
DragonFly - Air - the spirit who changes direction frequently but always with mirth and positive spirit. Small does not mean ineffectual! He can travel anywhere and while he can sometimes cause mischief, it is only to remind us not to take ourselves or our troubled too seriously. Like the 4 dragonflies in the corners of the border, it's all about balance.
Dragon Fire - Fire - the fierce fire dragon has 4 symbols around him representing faith, drama, battle and creation. While each symbol is separate they are still tied together in the whole and surround the dragon... not to confine him but to give him strength in the things he must battle to protect, defend or achieve.
Sea Dragons - Water - the water spirits are chaotic and always changing, swirling like a whirlpool. Like the waters of creation and birth life is always a part of water, as we see in the small life scene in the bottom of the ring of waves.
