Celtic tapestries made from pure shantung silk! This isn't one of those cheap cotten bedspreads sold as a "tapestry", this is printed on real silk and hung from wooden bars with copper wire wrapped ends. This particular tapestry features a Celtic chalice surrounded by full "carpet page" decorations including angels, vine and chalice details, knotwork, spirals and a specially designed diaper pattern above the grail. The diaper pattern (those lozenge shaped iris' above the cup) changes color as it radiates from the mouth of the cup, for a glowing kind of radiant effect, with the spiral ringed arches above and below doubling as a halo. I adore all myths of course, from a lot of cultures, and the Arthurian myths of the Quest for the Holy Grail were some of my first introductions to mythology! So this piece is a fusion between the Celtic art that I love so much and Arthurian tradition.
